UCSD Urban Planning Research and Teaching Hub (UP-Hub): 2025 Update
The Urban Planning Research and Teaching Hub (UP-Hub) at UC San Diego marked 2025 with international exchanges, community impact, and new research strides.
-
In March, UP-Hub hosted 14 Technion Jewish and Arab students and faculty for nine days of collaboration, urban planning tours, and academic exchange. Visitors highlighted the “energy, collaboration, and vibrant spirit” of their experience.

Student projects made a real-world impact in Logan Heights: a new policy report, a self-guided mural tour, the “Light Up Alleys” initiative, and a community data event all took place this spring.
-
Research continues to grow—with new partnerships, academic articles under review, and grant proposals submitted to national foundations.
-
Upcoming highlights include a UCSD student exchange to Technion in Spring 2026, new research on homelessness, and conference presentations this fall.
