Archeologist Erez Ben-Yosef, MGSDII visiting professor at UCSD, presents his latest discoveries in Southern Israel. Uncovering a 3,000-year-old fortified trading post, and the copper mining camps it protected, Ben-Yosef and his team thought, “Are these the gates to King Solomon’s mines?” Dating techniques put it squarely in the era of stories from the Bible about Solomon’s and King David’s reign.
