SUMMARY:MGSDII Filmmaker Premiers at San Diego LGBTQ Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:Past MGSDII Visiting Professor and award-winning Filmmaker\, Nitzan Gilady debuts his latest film\, In Bed (Keilu Ein Mahar)\, at the 23rd Annual San Diego LGBTQ Film Festival\, presented by FilmOut San Diego. \nGilady is director/producer of Wedding Doll and the documentary films\, Jerusalem Is Proud To Present\, In Satmar Custody\, and The Last Enemy. His films have received 13 international awards and participated in over 120 international film festivals. \nAbout the Film:\nSet in Tel Aviv over a hallucinatory 24 hours\, two friends\, Guy and Joy\, are taking part in the city’s LGBTQ+ Pride Parade celebrations. Prepared for a night of hookups\, drugs and dancing\, their fun is suddenly cut short when a violent shooting sends everyone in the crowd running for safety. In their rush to get home\, Guy and Joy pick up Dan\, a fellow parade attendee\, and bring him back to Guy’s apartment as a manhunt for the shooter creates mayhem outside. Back in Guy’s apartment\, however\, the three are determined to still have a good time. Still in shock and with plenty of drugs at their disposal\, a dark\, sex-fueled odyssey begins. As the drugs continue to distort his perception\, a paranoid and strung-out Guy discovers the line between intimacy and violence are getting dangerously blurred. Gilady’s erotic gay thriller takes an unflinching look at party culture with a fast-paced electronic soundtrack by Offer Nissim and immersive cinematography. \nTickets can be purchased here. \nAbout the Filmmaker:\nNitzan is a graduate of the high art school “Thelma Yelin” (Israel) and the Academy of arts “Circle in the Square” (New York). He is director/producer of the documentary films “Jerusalem Is Proud To Present”\, “In Satmar Custody” and “The Last Enemy”.
